Planning Book Scope Details

Facility name: Medical Equipment Lessons Learned

Project name: Medical Equipment Lessons Learned
Location: ,
Project classification:
Project type: Other
Project number: 0000000000
Lesson Learned number: 8
Impact: Scope

Lesson Learned/Best Practice

Planning books should thoroughly describe the type of space that is included in the scope of the project i.e. Is the Major OR either Ortho or Neuro not just a Major OR.  Is the ICU regular ICU or Neuro ICU etc.  The equipment needed to support each of these spaces is quite different and has a big impact from a budgeting standpoint.

Suggested Actions for Future Projects

The planning books should be as detailed as possible when describing the type of space included in the scope of the project.  This will save time on the ME Managers part and eliminate the need to seek clarification from planning.

Suggested Actions for Future Projects

When planning books are issued ME Manager would visit with AVP to discuss project scope and whether an onsite visit and assessment of existing equipment should be done prior to submitting a budget.
